IMPORTANT - Online Safety Update for Families

Posted Date: 03/23/26 (04:20 PM)

Dear Moses Lake School District Families,

We want to make you aware of an online game called “Five Nights at Epstein’s” that has recently surfaced in conversations among students. This is something we have seen in our schools and are actively addressing through our technology systems, school supports, and ongoing education with families.

This content includes themes that are not appropriate for a school setting and do not align with our expectations for respectful behavior or student conduct. Like many forms of online content, it is often shared quickly through group chats, links, and social media.

We are sharing this information as part of our ongoing commitment to student safety and awareness. In many cases, students may not fully understand the seriousness of real-world context behind the content they are viewing or sharing.

Because of this, we encourage families to take time to talk with their students about:

  • Using respectful language and treating others with dignity

  • Making thoughtful choices about the content they access and share

  • Understanding that online content can have real-world impact

  • Speaking up or seeking help if something feels inappropriate or concerning

If your child asks about this game or related content, you may find it helpful to keep the conversation simple, calm, and age-appropriate. Many families choose to use these moments as an opportunity to talk about making thoughtful choices online and treating others with respect. Creating space for open, judgment-free conversation can help students feel comfortable asking questions and navigating situations like this.

If your student has questions or needs support, our school counselors and administrators are available and ready to help. We encourage students and families to reach out to their school if they have concerns or would like additional support.

We appreciate your partnership in helping us maintain safe, respectful, and supportive learning environments for all students.
